Amount of surgery: Different types of eruption, impaction, presence of infection, & bone density can affect the type and amount of surgery necessary for removal of the teeth. The pain can be managed with rest, hygiene care, & pain medication. If pain persists or if there are signs of infection or recurrent swelling, you should see the surgeon who performed the surgery.
