Always possible: But less likely than an extraction without sutures. If you feel you have a problem, call the surgeon who extracted the tooth.

Post op pain: You may just be dealing with some aggressive post operative pain associated with the difficult extraction. Impacted teeth tend to require the removal of bone and require more healing time than erupted teeth. If its been over a week and there's still pain or more pain, contact your dental surgeon.
