A member asked:

When can i start cleaning my socket with salt water after dry socket is pasted? would toughing out the dry socket without packing it, promote healing?

Don't: The dry socket was probably caused by your rinsing out the area to begin with. You must learn to leave it alone. Do not rinse it out. Toughing it out will not help it heal faster but will only make you more uncomfortable.

No rinsing: Let the paste work its magic and in a few days you should feel a whole lot better. Irritating the wound will not make it heal faster.

Dry socket: The dry socket develops in the first place from loss of the blood clot which in turn exposed bone & results in delayed wound healing. Basically, you want to promote would healing and let nature and your body heal the extraction site. Dry socket medication both soothes the area and re-establishes wound healing. Gentle rinsing just to keep the area clean once it's covered over again.
