It depends: What type of work do you do? Stand? Sit? How severe is the sprain. If they require time off they would also require it being seen. If you have done so then the treating doctor would answer it. If not checked. General answer is anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on severity hope this helps.

Depends.: A simple sprain, one that has not resulted in significant ligament damage, usually takes 7-14 days to feel good. Of course how good it feels at work depends largely on what type of work you do. If you have a desk job, you don't need any time off. If you're on your feet working 12 hour shifts and picking up heavy objects you may need 2 weeks. An ankle brace when u do return to work will help.
