Rehab all, they vary: Grade 1 sprain: slight stretching of the ligament. 2-6 wks grade 2 sprain: partial tearing of the ligament. Abnormal looseness (laxity) of the ankle joint occurs. 6-12 wks grade 3 sprain: complete tear of the ligament.Gross instability occurs. Usually 6 months or longer.

Read below: Grade 1 within 4 -6 months, but very functional after 1 month. Grade 2 and 3 will take 8 months to heal. Grade 3 may require surgery and take longer.

On average: I would say mild 1-2 weeks mod 2-6 severe 4-8 these are just averages.

How long does it usually take for a sprain ankle take to heal? can you play soccer with a sprained ankle

2-8weeks: anywhere from 2-8weeks. I would not reccomend playing soccer, an activity with ample side to side movement that requires intact ankle ligaments. You can start walking/light jogging if the pain isnt too bad, less than a 2-3 out of 10, but if more than that rest, Ice, compress it (ACE bandage), and elevate. (the RICE mnemonic)

What are the chances my grade 2 ankle sprain will heal in a month?

Pretty good: Ankle ligaments take about six weeks to fully heal. In a month, you should be feeling pretty good with no limitations in day to day activities. High demand activities such as soccer, basketball, etc may still cause soreness. Modify activity pain permitting.
