Regular doctor: If this is new onset, especially if you are a sexually active female, it could just be a urinary tract infection (uti). Your primary care physician (pcp) can run tests to find out and treat you. Even if that is not the cause, your pcp can decide if it is something they will take care of or if they want to send you to a specialist.

Regular doctor fine: Most likely a urinary infection which any primary care doctor can take care of. Does not require a specialist.
