Surgery: You may need surgery for a nonunited talar body fracture after 5 months of injury. The surgery involves being asleep, screws, possible bone grafting or bone healing augmentation, and soft tissue dissection. You'll probably be in a cast, nonweightbearing for another 2-3 months.
