Sounds like it: Sounds like sleep paralysis. It is usually not harmful but may be linked to a sleep disorder called narcolepsy. You can minimize it by getting enough sleep, having a regular sleep schedule, and exercising. You should see your doctor if you are concerned about having any other sleep disorders.
