What's a simple, painless treatment for my grandpa's abdominal aortic aneurysm?

Dr. Eric Wang answered

Depends: Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) are watched closely, operated on, or treated with endovascular stent grafting, all while strictly controlling blood pressure. Treatment depends on size of the aaa, age and condition of the patient, and other factors. At minimum it should be followed closely by a doctor.

AAA: Aaa's are not usually painful, though complications of them can be. Options are open repair, endovascular repair or medical management to prevent it from growing. Consultation with a vascular surgeon will allow the patient and family to decide which option is best for him.
