Occassionally...: ...Gluten enteropathy and hypothyroidism happen in the same person. Gluten should not make hypothyroidism worse, though.

No: There is no direct relationship between celiac disease and thyroid disease. However, if you have autoimmune hypothyroidism, some literature suggests you may be at higher risk for things like celiac disease, and thus problems with gluten digestion. In kids we often see type 1 diabetes, thyroid problems and celiac disease co-occur.
