A member asked:

Would avoiding gluten cure my hypothyroidism?

No: Hi. If you have celiac disease, avoiding gluten will help that, but in the absence of celiac disease and presence of hypothyroidism, avoiding gluten will do nothing to cure your hypothyroidism (nor will anything else, by the way). If you are in fact hypothyroid, you need to take thyroid hormone replacement. Good luck!

No: Gluten does not cause thyroid problems so avoiding it will have no effect on the thyroid. You will need to take thyroid supplementation the rest of your life.
