Not common: Thoughts of suicide are not uncommon in seriously depressed persons, but mere sadness should not lead to thoughts of self harm. Thinking of ending one's own life is a serious psychiatric symptom that requires immediate treatment. Please see your doctor and ask to see a mental health professional or f you are seriously considering suicide call 911 or go to your nearest eric.

Common: It is pretty common for someone who is depressed to have suicidal or morbid thoughts. You should talk to a professional and stay safe until you have your depression under control.
