YES: The patient needs to be seen by an HIV specialist who will coordinate his therapy- the most important thing for that person to know, is to not give up! what others around him can do is to help provide the emotional support to get him/her through this time of need. It's going to be a mental marathon and with the support of a caring HIV specialist and supporting staff, that person will pull through.
