When you have a clot in your calf, is the pain constant or would it come and go? how severe would it be?

If you have: Deep vein thrombophlebitis of calf, pain is usually constant. It could be minimal or severe, depending on size and acuity. Sometimes it is difficult even for doctors to make diagnosis without special tests, so you should not try to make this diagnosis on your own. The clot can break free and travel to your lungs, a pulmonary embolus. Go see a doctor now.
