Not a lupus med: Opioid narcotics such as oxycodone do not affect the underlying disease process of discoid lupus (dle), which is an autoimmune reaction against the skin. Opioids are associated with significant risks including dependence and overdose. Since they do not affect the actual process causing dle, your doctors are protecting you from potential risks of unnecessary medications. Dle needs other treatments.
