A member asked:

Many will: The anti-inflammatory effects of hydroxychloroquine are well known. A primary care doc may choose to prescribe it . Except for a brief period when medical & pharmacy boards brought restrictions on its use during the early covid period I have no reason to suspect general physicians would not prescribe it unless they do not feel it is indicated.

Risky: Self diagnosing is becoming in the informational boom era increasingly common with connecting self treating or choosing meds. There are massive biases that may interfere as well as the experimenting/chemical coping tendencies that will blur the picture. Get the opinion of a rheumatologist prior to starting treatment for a chronic, incurable condition.
