Depends : There are other indications for surgery besides acute, emergency indications as mentioned. If you have multiple attacks and hospitalizations that is limiting quality of life then surgery is right for you. With laparoscopic surgery you can have a better recovery. There are lots of risks involved and you should speak with a surgeon to help you make a decision. Be careful with laxatives.
