See answer: I’m assuming the air / fluid levels were within normal bowel. Both air and fluid is normally present in the stomach, large, and small bowel and appears as a straight line, a level, on erect films. With obstruction, the bowel may have air / fluid levels but would be distended. Air/ fluid levels should not be present outside of stomach or bowel.
