Need evaluation: Most likely this is a wisdom tooth that is erupting.. Some people are missing some of their wisdom teeth, so you may not have the one on the other side. Or it could be present and not erupted. The best thing for you to do is to have a dentist evaluate your wisdom teeth and determine if they need to be removed because you do not have space for them and they will damage your other teeth.

Yes find a dentist: Anytime a tooth has broken, it can lead to a large amount of pain and infection. This can also mean you may have a number of other problems. Find a dentist.
