Maybe: When you open wide and your joint (TMJ) makes noise it is a sign that there has been some incident (stress, staying open for long periods, grinding/clenching) that caused the joint capsule to swell and move the joint out of position. It should resolve if it is simply from the extraction. If it does not resolve or gets worse you should see your dentist and be evaluated for night guard treatment.

Disc movement in TMJ: As long as this is not painful, then most agree that this isn't something to treat or be overly concerned about. The noise is most likely the meniscus, or disc, on the TMJ sliding in and out of place. Not a lot you can do about it. Just be careful of you need further teeth removed as the joint may be a bit weak. Let your dentist know.
