It depends: I think you mean a 24 hour ECG monitor, or a holter monitor. If typical symptoms are felt during monitoring, a single digit number of isolated ectopics is very reassuring that a worrisome/life-altering heart rhythm is not seen. This does not mean you are not having symptoms, it mean simply that the heart rhythm is ok at the time. Occasionally, anemia, thyroid, or anxiety can makes these worse.
