A member asked:

My exams are very near. and i got a sudden attack of severe flu, throat infection and fever at times aswell. will a steroid shot make any difference.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Perhaps: An injection of steroids or a Medrol (methylprednisolone) dose pack may give you some symptomatic relief, but not a very good idea. First, if the infection is bacterial it may make it much worse. If viral it may delay resolution, and steroids are far from benign medications. See a doctor and let them examine and treat you accordingly.
