Ovarian suppression: Chemotherapy can affect ovarian hormone production for a while after completing treatment. It may take a while for the ovaries to resume their normal function. Hormone imbalances from the ovaries lead the uterus to respond with irregular bleeding episodes. Occasionally, chemotherapy can lead to ovarian failure although this is more common with radiation treatment.
