May be: Along with abdominal pain over the inflamed area frequently left lower abdominal quadrant, but anywhere with diverticulitis.

Yes, but, not usual : Inflammation within the colon will usually produce a sharp, local pain. In the rare instance the inflammation is behind the colon and not involving the peritoneal layer that covers most of the colon, then back pain that feels deep seated may be a symptom. An exam and ct scan can best delineate this.

Maybe: The location and extent of diverticulitis determines its presentation. A ct scan may show that it is low lying in the pelvis causing pressure or irritation. Consult with your physician for a more detailed personalized analysis.
