Swollen foot: Post operative ankle fusion takes roughly 3-12 months for recovery. The foot may still be swollen but decreasing swelling is a positive sign. If swelling increases instead of going down or gets redder, definitely alert your surgeon.

Ankle surgery: Swelling can persist for some time after ankle surgery - or any surgery. The redness needs to be evaluated by your surgeon . He/she would want you to contact them for an evaluation. Do so sooner rather than later. Good luck.
