Variable: Pelvic inflammatory disease (pid) is usually treated with a combination of antibiotics as several different organisms can be at work. A more severe infection may require further treatment up to and including intravenous antibiotics. See you doctor if you think the infection is still present.

Needs follow up : Usually only one treatment is required. It is important that you schedule follow up though if you're still having residual pain.
