A member asked:

Mi have been diagnosed with pid will amoxycillin and zithromax be enough combination to cure pid? or will i need different antibiotics?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Likely: Though the regimen you were prescribed isn't on the cdc's recommended list for outpatient treatment of pid, it likely will work. Typically outpatient treatment involves an intramuscular injection of Ceftriaxone and Azithromycin (zithromax). The Amoxicillin should provide coverage even if it isn't first line. If you have any question about your treatment, you can consult a clinic or md.
