I have a very itchy lump on my nipple (had breast augmentation 2 weeks ago) do i need to get it checked out? what could it be? worried about cancer

Probably not: Cancer is not likely, but nothing is impossible. This may be a stitch inflammation or multiple other things. Go and see the surgeon who did the augmentation. They are generally excellent and familiar with all the complications.

No Cancer here!: Cancer can not develop so soon after surgery done just 2 weeks back. You should notify your surgeon who did the surgery on your breast. He will be able to take care of this problem.

Highly unlikely: But continue to keep an eye on it. In all likelihood this is an obstructed duct or suture reaction and will likely resolve within 3 months. However if it gets worse or does not resolve , discuss with your surgeon.

Safety: Always best to check with your physicians for accurate advice and/or reassurance. Online consultants, although good intentioned, cannot provide you with accurate diagnoses… best wishes.

Not likely: More common is to get a little acne on your breasts for the first few wks following an augmentation. Always ask your surgeon to check out anything you feel is concerning or unusual.

Breast lesion: You should most certainly see your plastic surgeon and ask them to evaluate the lesion.
