Nerve damage: Post-infectious gastroparesis (pigp) is a subgroup of idiopathic gastroparesis. This is usually caused by virus. Symptoms may take 4 weeks to over 12 months to resolve.It is believed that the virus somehow damages the nerves going to stomach.
