Metformin: The most common side effects of metformin is nausea and diarrhea. This is more common in the short acting (twice a day) version. It is less common in the long acting one, but i would see your doctor about changing the medicine.

Yes: Metformin is a great drug but if it makes you feel sick everytime you take it, then it is not the drug for you. See your doctor to get the regimen reevaluated. There are many other options to choose from.
