The reverse: Actually, the reverse is true. Levels of hormone production, which vary throughout a woman's cycle, affect autoimmunity giving a roller coaster ride for some women with ra. Elevation of hormones seems to help while drops in hormones may induce symptoms so that more RA medication may be required.
