Narcolepsy: A significant concern with anesthesia is the interaction of commonly used narcolepsy medications (many are metabolized by the liver) and the drugs used to induce anesthesia. During a pre-op the anesthesiologist will review your medications and see which ones are appropriate to take on the day of surgery.
