Im a 32yr old female.i had micro-fracture surgery on the articular cartilage of the femoral bone a year ago in march. i still cannot go up steps without tremendous pain. what steps should i take next?

Microfracture: You need follow up evaluation & possible mri. Microfracture is not successful 100% of the time. Other conservative options may include injections of cortisone or hyaluronic acid, pt, bracing, etc. Surgical options include repeat microfracture, osteochondral autograft (oats or mosaicplasty), or autologous chondrocyte implantation.

Second look: This needs to be evaluated again likely with repeat xrays, mri. You may need a cartilage restoration expert. Surgical options include an oats procedure, or aci, etc.
