Surgery: On a continuum of procedures, an ulnar-shortening osteotomy is not very technically challenging and recovery is usually benign. However, it is surgery and there are inherent risks involved with surgery. It will take about 6-8 weeks for the bone to heal.

Good surgery results: Ulnar shortening osteotomy is a successful way to treat ulnar side wrist pain from ulnar impaction... The procedure is fairly complex and usually requires general anesthesia... Recovery time is usually 6-8 weeks.
