Its ok: You can ice it. As long as you have no vascular issues, icing is ok. It is better to soak you foot in epsom salt and warm water.

Ice will help.: I highly recommend icing the toe 2-3 times a day for the next 2-3 days, as well as elevating the surgical foot in question , as much as possible.
