A member asked:

Can an ultrasound mistakenly say your 9 weeks if you think your 12 weeks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ultrasound dates: Generally speaking, ultrasound evaluation with reported dates in th 9 week range are accurate to within 4-5 days. Unless you only had sexual intercourse around the 12 week timeframe (or had in-vitro fertilization), the ultrasound dates are more accurate than dates from the patient;s menstrual history.
