If ultrasound says 2 cm lesion. is it total area of lesion or what? i.e is it length x width. e.g for 15x16mm lesion it would be 15mmx16mm =2.4cm ?

Hi, good question. Ultrasound will typically measure a lesion in 3 dimensions (centimeters or millimeters). These measurements would not be added to one another. Otoh a volume (in mL) can be determined based on those measurements. In the case u mentioned, 2cm would be 1 dimension of the lesion.
