A member asked:

How many weeks is the baby if the ultrasound says "gs 1.11 cm" ? thank you!!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Here's the math.: The gestational sac is usually measurable about 3 weeks after conception (5 weeks after first day of LMP) and is only 2-3 mm at that time. The mean gestation sac diameter (MSD) increases by about 1 mm a day in early pregnancy. 1.11 cm is ~11 mm. So the baby is 21+8 or 9 days (~4 1/2 weeks) along based on date of conception. Wow. Amazing!
