Yes: Fatty tumors of the head and neck should be removed. As they get bigger, they can cause significant problems and become more difficult to remove as they grow. These are called lipomas and can occur anywhere in the body. They are usually removed by a surgeon. Of note lipomas near the adam's apple are not that common. I would see an ENT to confirm that is your diagnosis.
