PID: Pid is infection of the uterus, ovaries or fallopian tubes. Most cases are a result of chlamydial or gonorrheal infections, however bacterial invasion can also occur from childbirth, miscarriage, or the insertion of an iud (among other causes). Symptoms may include fever, vaginal discharge, or lower abdominal pain. If you feel you have pid, see a doctor (or go to the er) immediately!

Chlamydia: Pid is caused by chlamydia and/ or gonorrhea that has travelled through the upper reproductive tract into the pelvis. It is treated with antibiotics and depending on the severity, IV antibiotics in the hospital may be needed. Repeated episodes increase your risk of infertility and ectopic pregnancy.
