See a doctor: A hernia can be diagnosed by a physical exam with your primary doctor or a general surgeon. Any new abdominal pain or acute pain should be evaluated promptly by your doctor. Sometimes musculoskeletal pain (tendon sprain, etc) can be mistaken for a hernia, and may only require rest and anti-inflammatory medication.
