When ever i cough my left side feels like something is bulging out i've been having pain there for 2 months the gi doesn't know why. is it a hernia?

Possible: Hernia's are caused by abdominal wall defects. Coughing increases the pressure in the abdomen and may increase the chances that a hernia results. See your primary doctor, or urgent care for further examination.

May be: If ur worried about a hernia, talk to ur primary care doc. If they can't tell, they can order ct or refer u to a surgeon.

Yes it may be: Make an appointment with your doctor and he can examine you when you cough and feel the bulge which will be palpable and reducible with his hand and he can tell you if you have hernia, and can refer you to a surgeon.
