Can cervical lymph nodes swell from an infection caused by a wisdom tooth? if so, how long does it take for them to go back down?

Yes. Lymphadenopathy: Can occur when the tissues around wisdom teeth are infected. The nodes can be painful to palapation and are a sign that you need to see your dentist/surgeon. Antibiotic is usually indicated and the nodes should resolve in a few days. Have wisdom teeth evaluated for removal to prevent recurrence if they are related to the lymphadenopathy. Good luck.

Lymphadenopathy: Yes they can. The lymph nodes, once inflamed, can remain indurated for many weeks, even months post procedure - despite antibiotics and resolution of infection. On rare occasions they can even calcify and become firm and never disappear. Apply heat and try not to repeatedly palpate and press on it. That too can irritate the node(s) and keep them inflamed longer.
