Anise/herbs: The best remedy for a toothache is to first find out why you have the toothache. For this, you need to visit your dentist and have an examination and radiographs (xrays) taken. Once it has been determined that you have caries, the only permanent way to get rid of the pain is to have the caries removed and the tooth restored. If you have a problem with the nerve, only way is to get root canal tx.

Options aren't great: A true toothache (i.e. One originating from the nerve of the tooth) is typically only responsive to treatment by your endodontist or dentist. Over the counter pain medications can sometimes provide some limited relief, but don't address the underlying cause. You should be seen and have the source identified and treated appropriately.

Try the phone!: In reality, the best home remedy for a terrible tooth ache is a visit to the dentist. Use your telephone to make an appointment to permanently solve your pain. Home remedies are for the most part a a temporary band aid and don't give comprehensive relief. A great toothache mandates professional attention! Good luck and don't be afraid...modern dentistry is painless!

See dentist ASAP: In the mean time you may get some pain relief by: gently brushing the tooth and rinsing with warm water to remove any debris, avoid very hot and very cold foods, avoid acidic drinks, avoid sweet foods, take over the counter pain medication same as for a headache. The only way you will get any meaningful, long term relief is to go to the dentist and have it treated properly.

Telephone: Put down the computer, pick up the telephone, and call your Dentist who has years of training and experience to quickly and efficiently help you resolve your serious infection. There is no pill, salve, homeopathic remedy, snake oil, ointment, powder, exercise, or OTC remedy that will help. Delay will endanger your other organ systems and perhaps your life. Get off your butt and call Dentist.

Home Remedy: There are no home remedies or cures for rotten teeth. No magic pills or rinses or mouthwashes. Toothaches need to be treated locally by a dentist, someone who has years of experience treating these conditions. The sooner you call the sooner you will feel better. Please don't delay, the pain may soon be unbearable.
