7.7 hours: On average an adult needs 7.7 hours of sleep per night. If you feel the need to sleep longer than that in order to feel rested, it may be possible that you are spending a lot of time in bed, but are not actually asleep all the time you are in bed. You should consult with a sleep physician and they may recommend a sleep study.
