Mouth ulcers: For multiple isolated ulcers, most patient are very frustrated with topical medications, ointments, and salves. Ulcers are painful placing salve hurts, penetration is very superficial, and saliva almost instantly washes the medication off. However, an oral rinse of .1% to .5% Dexamethasone four times daily--held in mouth at least 5 mins each time really can be helpful. See your dds or md.
