Sestamibi SE's: Se's were reported in 5% or less of cases. Probably depends on dose given & other meds pt is taking. Most commonly reported were rash/hives/itching; nausea/vomiting;edema; headache; chest pain; shortness of breath. Mibi is used in cardiac scans, parathyroid scans, & breast nodule evaluation. Unlikely.: Sestamibi is a fairly common tracer. In 12 years of practice, I do not know of anyone who had side effects from it.

Rare: People rarely have side effects from the tracer sestamibi. It is more likely to have side effects from other agents used during cardiac stress if you are having a pharmacologic stress. The pharamacologic agents can cause side effects but usually sestamibi is not the culprit.
