Sounds like gingivit: The two most likely causes are either gingivitis or periodontitis. You need to see a periodontist for an evaluation.

Swollen gums: Are you getting an allergic reaction to some medication or toothpaste? But probably you have gum disease and should be seen by a periodontist who specializes in this. If left untreated it can become more serious.
