Yes, however...: It is bad to take too large a dose of anything but the question is what do you mean by large doses? Most adults need to take 5-8, 000 iu of vit d3 during fall & winter to attain optimal levels and one generally has to take 40, 000 iu/day for months to become toxic. Many docs prescribe 50, 000 iu of d2 once a week but the d2 form is proven to be harmful so avoid this form!
