Yes...: If: 1) you are medically fit 2) you have realistic expectations 3) your surgeon is properly trained and certified, with experience in your particular procedure 4) the procedure is done in an accredited surgery center 5) any anesthesia is administered by either an md anesthesiologist or crna.

Yes, but.: All cosmetic procedures have some level of risk associated with them. In other words, the risk, even though extremely low, or on the verge of theoretical, is never zero. Aside from the actual surgical risk, general anesthesia and ivy sedation may add a significant level of potential risk over and above the risk of the potential procedure. Always obtain a detailed informed consent.

Safe, but be careful: With any procedure, there are risks. Bleeding, infection, and anesthesia complications are the most "common" risks that we talk about. There may be risk particular to that operation. Your board certified plastic surgeon will ask about your health. He/she may have you see another doctor, (cardiologist, internist, hematologist) to make sure that you are healthy for your particular surgery.
